Strawberry Moon
good morning:)
Well, today is June 11th.Strawberry Moon” (Strawberry Moon).
🌕️ Full Moon: June 11th 【16:44】
The Strawberry Moon appears red becauseWhen the moon is low in the sky, the atmosphere scatters blue light, and only red light reaches our eyes. This is the same principle that makes the sunset look red. The name Strawberry Moon comes from the fact that Native Americans considered June to be the strawberry harvest season, and has nothing to do with the moon actually looking red.
The Strawberry Moon has a spiritual meaning:Powers such as "eternal love," "success in love," and "attracting good fortune"There is also a superstition that says, "If you watch the Strawberry Moon with your loved one, you will be united."
Today is a full moon, so it's Thunder Farm's opening day (my rule)
Recently, I have been harvesting komatsuna and green onions and adding them to salt miso soup.

These pictures are of okra that I planted from seed as a summer vegetable! It has grown quite a bit \(^o^)/Yayoi
I chose to try growing okra because it has very strong stems and is easy to grow.
Next up is "onions." These are just onions purchased from the supermarket, with only the cores left and planted in soil.
The current trend "regeneration cultivation" That's right!

The onions have grown quite a bit and are now clearly recognizable as onions.
I was advised not to let the onions dry out, especially at the beginning.
It wasn't particularly difficult! And I heard that you can eat the leaves of onions, so
It feels like the fun has doubled!
I especially like to cut off the necessary amount of green onions with scissors almost every day and use them as a condiment.
It's like infinite cultivation, with new buds appearing one after another and growing so quickly, which is very helpful.
Above all, it is an immense joy and gratitude to be able to receive completely pesticide-free vegetables for free..
Why not try growing vegetables in a small space like your balcony or kitchen?
Things that every household can do to combat global warming!
"Increasing the amount of soil in each home is a very effective measure against global warming..”
Soil has the ability to store three times as much carbon dioxide as plants, and increasing soil volume is expected to help absorb carbon dioxide and reduce atmospheric concentrations..
[What are the specific effects??】
- Carbon Dioxide Absorption:Plants absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and it is stored as organic carbon in the humus that remains in the soil. By increasing the amount of soil, this absorption can be increased.
- Soil Retention:Soil not only retains water, but also helps the activity of microorganisms in the soil and promotes plant growth. By increasing the amount of soil, you can expect these effects.
- Greening:Increasing soil volume by planting vegetable gardens and trees in gardens leads to greening of urban areas and also contributes to preventing heat damage and beautifying the environment.
[What each household can do】
- Home gardens andBuild up your soil by growing vegetables and flowers in your garden or on your balcony.
- Planter garden:Grow herbs and ornamental plants in containers to add soil to your home.
- Composting:Composting vegetable scraps and food waste from your home also helps improve the soil.
- Planting a garden:Planting trees in your yard not only enriches the soil but also adds greenery.
[The benefits of increasing soil】
- Global warming countermeasures:Its carbon dioxide absorption effect contributes to curbing global warming.
- Environmental improvement:Greening also contributes to preventing heat damage in cities and beautifying the environment.
- Food Security:Growing vegetables in your own garden can increase your food self-sufficiency.
- Health Promotion:Exercising in your home garden or green space and being in contact with nature can also lead to improved health.
Increasing soil volume is a measure against global warming that each household can take and also leads to improving the environment, so let's actively work on it..
Thank you very much for reading to the end.
I hope you all have happy, healthy and harmonious days.
See you again at Thunder Farm.
The next posting is scheduled for the new moon!New Moon: June 25th 7:32pm"
